Wild Huckleberry...epitomizes wilderness and nature. Huckleberries are native to the northwestern United States and Canada, growing from Wyoming west to Alaska, Washington, and Oregon. They also grow in Idaho and Montana. Harvesting of the Huckleberry from the wild predate the nineteenth-century European settlers when these fruits were traded and bartered by Native Americans. Today, this popular tart-sweet fruit is eaten fresh or used in pies, pastries, and jams. This perennial's flowers are ivory white and its berries are purple.
