Plant red columbine the same way as blue columbine: sow fall for natural cold stratification or refrigerate seeds 3–4 weeks before spring sowing. Grow in part shade to sun (more sun in cooler areas) with moist, well-drained soil. Scatter seeds, press in, and keep barely covered (light helps germination).
