Sow in spring after frost or fall for earlier blooms, in full sun with well-drained soil. Rake the area smooth, scatter seeds evenly, then cover lightly (1/8 inch) and press down. Keep the top layer consistently moist until seedlings emerge in 10–20 days. Once seedlings are a few inches tall, thin to 12–18 inches apart. Water weekly while establishing; after that, blanketflower handles heat and some drought well. Deadhead spent blooms to keep flowers coming, and avoid heavy feeding—moderate nutrients + sun = best performance.
